Faculty REJECT forced vote Offer: CEC, Negotiate NOW!

| 16/11/2017

College faculty from across the province have voted to REJECT the College Employer Council’s latest offer, an offer which would have damaged academic quality and staffing at Ontario’s colleges, including at Seneca.

We hope that the CEC will now be willing to return to the bargaining table, which is what the OPSEU faculty bargaining team has been asking for all along. Together, we must keep up our pressure on the CEC and on the Ontario government.

Though the CEC sought to demoralize us by unnecessarily prolonging the strike, our picket lines remain strong. Thank you to our picket captains, picketers, drivers, headquarters staff, those working from home, and those offering their support.

With a turnout of 95% of eligible voters, 86% voted to REJECT.

We will continue to seek a resolution that will benefit the college system for generations.
