Information About the Part-Time and Sessional Faculty Unionization Efforts
In 2017, Part-Time and Sessional college Faculty in all 24 public colleges across Ontario voted whether or not to unionize with OPSEU/SEFPO. Currently, these Faculty are not part of the CAAT-A Collective Agreement which covers Partial-Load and Full-Time Faculty.
The votes are scheduled to be counted and the results announced soon after April 18th, 2025. These votes will determine whether Part-Time and Sessional Faculty will become a part of OPSEU/SEFPO. All Part-Time and Sessional Faculty at Seneca will join Partial-Load and Full-Time Faculty in Local 560. They will be part of the newly-created provincial Part-Time Division in OPSEU/SEFPO. The new Division will begin bargaining its first collective agreement 60 days after the votes are counted.
