The team met with the College Employer Council team on Monday and again yesterday. Please see the attached Bargaining Update.
The College Employer Council’s proposal on Workload, unsurprisingly, sounds very familiar. We’ve seen the proposition of a Joint Workload Taskforce before. Most recently in 2009.
Further, it appears that the CEC doesn’t see any issues around equity in the College system. The commitments around the issue made by Seneca through the Au Large project suggests otherwise.
Our Bargaining Team points out that the CEC’s approach to equity issues follows a classic pattern of: “deny, delay, defer, and do nothing”.
The two teams are back at the table again today and our team will provide another update following.
